Community Feedback:
“Magic happens when Michael sits down to play the piano. The residents of The Highlands love it. We invited him to make a formal performance, and in true Michael fashion, he never disappointed."

Background Information:
At age 12, Michael McCarthy had a memorable encounter with Liberace, who jokingly patted him on the head, saying, "What a nice Jewish boy!" Michael's musical journey began when he was introduced to the piano at five years old by his kindergarten teacher. By 14, he was competing at the Boston Conservatory of Music, and he later had the privilege of meeting the legendary Van Cliburn.
Over the years, Michael has performed at weddings, restaurants, private parties, and more. He holds a degree in Education with a concentration in music from Springfield College, and has earned a graduate certification from MHTP (Music for Healing and Transition).
As a teacher, Michael used music to engage his students, and his alternative teaching methods earned him the Governor’s Award for Working with Children at Risk.
